Photo shows a brown painted battery cage as the item you are purchasing (batteries not included). Not shown but included is the impact shield for the bolt on battery door and fuse block that attaches to it. In the background of the photo, you can see the location where the box attaches on the van (the one on the van is black and the bottom of the box is visible). The specific design location is on the passenger side forward of the rear wheel close to the leaf spring attachment point. A guide bolt hole is provided on the battery box to align with an existing hole on the vehicle unibody frame. Four bolt hole locations on the box are marked by partially drilling (two vertical through floor and two horizontal through the frame). These are for pilot holes to locate the large machine bolt holes. Loctite or nylon lock nuts are recommended since some lock washers can rattle loose. A floor jack will help hold the box in place to attach it and lifting each battery so you can slide it into the tray. Angle drill is required for the frame bolts. The fuse block is outstanding design and durable quality. It can easily accomodate just about all cable and fuse arrangements going to and from the batteries and uses the same mini ANL fuses that the engine battery uses. Voltage drop can be minimized by keeping the charge cable on the passenger side which is the same side that the alternator is on and wiring it straight from the alternator. The control wire for the automatic battery disconnect relay can originate and be fused under the driver's seat and go to the passenger side where the relay will be located inline with the 4 gauge auxiliary battery charge cable. Having the batteries on the passenger side helps offset the weight of too many things installed on the driver's side. The exhaust pipe dominates the passenger side but this is one of the things that is able to be squeezed in.

Sanitary dump stations are designed for the driver's side. The holding tank and drain need to be on that side along with the fresh water tank fill so further reason not to put the batteries there. Van in photo is a 2003 Dodge Sprinter 2500 158 wb.

This should fit the similar Dodge, Freightliner and Mercedes models 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2006. It may fit other vehicles since its made as compact as possible and only needs one right angle to attach to.
